Zoology and Botany Department – Interdisciplinary Workshop

A workshop was held on 30^th April 2019 at Govt. Post Graduate Islamia College for Women Lahore Cantt to enhancement the professional competency of the college faculty. The department of zoology and botany showed their excellence by organizing a documentary with the aim of presenting updated knowledge and skills related to their specific fields. The purpose of arranging the workshop was to prove the significance of both the subjects and its usage in a large variety of real world applications. Our worthy principal Ms Nasreen Javed Khan presided the event.

The workshop started with the recitation of the Holy verses and naat followed by the national anthem. The workshop was divided in two sessions. The first session was conducted by the department of zoology hosted by Dr sabahat through informative a documentary and video clips, the secrets of zoology were revealed and shared with the audience. Dr Noreen discussed the signs, symptoms and treatment of breast cancer. Ms Wajeeha mentioned the causes leading to heart attack and its risk factors in the presentation. She also shed light on the importance of first aid of a sudden heart attack.

Mrs Shagufta, head of botany department, presented various classification of plants and their importance in the substance of human life and eco system.

A great and interesting information was shared by both department that earned great applause by the staff.

At the end, our honorable principal concluded the workshop.
